2Manydjs. How do you define David and Stephen Dewaele? Indeed, the only connective tissue through their various guises as DJs, rockstars, remixers and general musical anarchists seems to be an endless search to demolish boundaries. This restlessness has served them well. To date, they have four studio albums, one remix album, one film (2008’s sterling documentary “Part of the Weekend Never Dies”) numerous bootlegs and even more remixes for everyone from Daft Punk to MGMT to their name(s). Quantitative analysis seems not to be a skill of theirs. And why should it be?Now however, with almost a decade’s worth of experience behind them, they are ready to take it all to the next level.
Operating directly from their website (www.2manydjs.com) – to be revamped and relaunched in May – Radio Soulwax brings together the Dewaele’s sprawling vision of musical anarchy into one freewheeling yet coalescent whole.
Brand new mixes, special guests, themed hours and a unique visual element combine to create a radio show quite unlike any other. Moreover, it will be free to air, with no ads or sponsors, and, most tantalizingly of all, will kick off with the some extra special dates through the UK with bespoke, live 2ManyDJs production for the very first time. Just another example of how the Dewaeles’ ready consumption of the entire spectrum of pop culture lends them the special ability to rumble, invert, and explode.
Deadmau5 His sound transcends various genres of music, flirting with techno and
minimal whilst hinting at tech house, trance and electro. In this world of
ever evolving genres, sounds and trends, the word phenomenon is rarely if
ever used, unless of course you are the hottest talent in the world of
electronic music and your name is Deadmau5.
2009 looks to be an exciting year as deadmau5 continues to break boundaries
in the electronic world topping the charts with the worldwide hit with Kaskade in ‘I remember’ and going on to conquer nearly every major festival the world has to offer with appearances at the likes of Creamfields, Sonar and Oxegen.Boyznoize. Alongside Justice, Soulwax, Tiga and Erol Alkan, Boys Noize is a fully paid-up member of a select crew that currently lead the way in todays electro circuit. It's no secret that dance music is back in vogue again, albeit in a whole new form with the rulebook ripped up. The rock kids are raving again and electronic acts are topping the charts.
Boys Noize aka Alex Ridha, has been making a racket with his upbeat rock influenced electro since the release of his Oi! Oi! Oi! Album in 2007. He has remixed the likes of Tiga, Para One, Feist, Depeche Mode and most famously for Bloc Party and is widely regarded by many as the most exciting producer around right now.
Mix Hell. Iggor Cavalera is recognized throughout the world as a master drummer and former member of none other than Brazilian heavy-metal band Sepultura. However, he is as much familiar with turntables and MPCs and he is with a drum kit, taking his credo of Hard Beat Beat and applying it to other projects. As Mixhell, he and his wife, Laima Leyton, combine dancefloor and hard rock sensibilities for DJ sets as unpredictable as Cavalera's musical career.
