Dizzee Rascal, has been the big breakthrough act of the past 12 months, turning a previous status of accomplished critics' favourite into commercial chart topper, with two number one singles - Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers Dizzee Rascal's debut album, Boy in da Corner won him the 2003 Mercury Prize . Follow-up albums Showtime and Maths+English were critically acclaimed and made the top ten. His upcoming fourth studio album Tongue "N" Cheek will include the two recent number-one hits and the forthcoming single, another collaboration with Calvin Harris, titled Holiday.
Describing their sound as "Upper West Side Soweto," New York City's Vampire Weekend formed when they were finishing up their studies at Columbia University.Vampire Weekend’s self titled debut album, was a delight, marrying African rhythms, ska and indie pop and revealing a lyrical wit and sophistication that [placed them streets ahead of their contemporaries. Released in the UK at the start of 2008 it reached gold sales status and spawned hit singles Oxford Comma, A-Punk, Mansard Roof and Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.
Vampire Weekend’s BELSONIC appearance is one of only a few select shows this summer as they continue work on the follow up record.
